What is the difference between a regular facial and a Hydrafacial?

The main difference is in the techniques used for each. A regular facial is performed traditionally, utilizing professional products, with extractions done manually or with a special tool. Versus, a Hydrafacial employs a machine with a suction-like wand, allowing for a deeper cleansing of your skin compared to a traditional facial. The extractions during a Hydrafacial are less painful and more effective. At the end of the session, the esthetician will show you a "gunkie jar" that displays all the impurities extracted from your skin during the treatment. Both facials are suitable for all skin types.

What is the difference between Signature, Deluxe and Platinum Hydrafacial?

All three facials are similar, but the Deluxe and Platinum options include additional steps. For instance, the Signature Hydrafacial focuses solely on the face. The Deluxe Hydrafacial extends the treatment to the neck and includes a complimentary customized serum. On the other hand, the Platinum Hydrafacial treats the face, neck, and décolleté, and features customized serums as well as a lymphatic massage.

Is Procell Micochanneling and Microneedling are the same thing?

Yes and No. Both treats the same concerns, but the difference is in technique. Procell Microchenneling uses a vertical stamping motion with fixed depth needles that result in consistent and controlled penetration. The clean, stamping motion creates micro-channels with minimal skin trauma, leading to less redness and quicker recovery. Procell Microchanneling also integrates a special growth factor serum which is applied directly on a skin during the treatment. Traditional Microneedling involves a gliding or rolling technique, which can create more drag and potential skin damage. It also takes longer for your skin to heal. The serums during the treatment are usually optional.

Does Procell Microchanneling hurt? And how long does the recovery last?

We use a numbing cream during the treatment, so the procedure is not painful. However, when we go over sensitive spots like your hairline or temples, you might feel slight pressure or discomfort. Overall, it is not painful, and many clients fall asleep during the procedure. The healing time varies depending on your skin thickness and the needle depth used. Right after the procedure, your skin will be slightly pink, like a sunburn. The redness typically fades within 2-24 hours depending on your skin type. Expect your skin to become dry and flaky as it heals. This dryness lasts about 3-5 days. After that, your skin will be glowing, toned, and rejuvenated.

What are the benefits of Procell Mocrochanneling?

The main benefits of getting a Procell Microchanneling are to smooth out wrinkles, tone, rejuvenate, and even out post-acne scarring.

How many sessions of Procell do I need to get to see the results?

Depending on your goals and age, the treatment varies. For clients in their early to mid-twenties, one session is usually enough to see a boost in collagen and skin texture. Older clients typically need 3-6 consecutive sessions. If you're aiming to even out post-acne scarring, regardless of your age, 3-6 sessions are recommended. After completing a course of consecutive treatments, it is advised to have maintenance sessions once or twice a year.

How soon or how long will I peel after a chemical peel?

Typically, peeling begins on the second or third day after a chemical peel and lasts about five days. The amount of peeling depends on your skin density and how often you use at-home products like retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, or beta hydroxy acids. Those who frequently use exfoliating products at home tend to make their skin more tolerant to a chemical peel, meaning they won’t peel as much. Conversely, clients who don’t use any chemical exfoliants at home are more likely to peel more, as their skin is more sensitive. If your skin doesn't visibly peel after a professional chemical peel, don’t worry; the peel is still working on a cellular level and will improve your skin's appearance over time.

Can I be out in the sun after a facial?

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 12 hours after a facial. After Procell Microchanneling, avoid the sun for about 48-72 hours. After a chemical peel, stay out of direct sunlight for 7-10 days. Remember to apply SPF daily after your facial, as your skin will be more prone to UV damage from acids and brightening ingredients.

Do you do facials for men?

Absolutely! We recommend getting a hydrafacial for men, since it’s less painful and more effective. Also, a small tip for men before their facial: you don’t have to shave your beard. If it’s too long, you can trim it, or shave it 2-3 days before your facial. Shaving on the same day as your facial can make your skin more irritated when an esthetician applies professional products.
